The Tincan newsletter is a monthly dispatch from someone (me) who doesn’t think marketing is gross, but who also doesn’t worship the algorithm. It’s for the once-a-month moment when you do feel like thinking about this stuff.

Expect links, ideas, cultural breadcrumbs, and encouragement for doing it your own way—even when you’re still figuring out what that looks like.


A little about me

I’m a communications designer and strategist who helps brands of all sizes figure out what they’re trying to say and how to say it. I’ve worked with tiny teams launching their first Instagram post and with big organizations rethinking everything from voice to visuals.

Tincan started because I’ve seen so many projects begin with a group stare and a collective “...so what are we doing?” There’s energy and potential, but also a ton of uncertainty. And a lot of the advice out there comes from people with a million followers, an assistant, and a brand identity dreamed up by an award-winning agency.

I wanted something for the rest of us—the ones still in the thick of it. Still testing, revising, occasionally flopping. Still showing up anyway.

That’s what Tincan is about. I hope you enjoy it.
